Sara LeMesh, soprano
"Plush soprano" (NY Times) Sara LeMesh was born and raised in Marin County where she began her studies in classical voice and piano at eight years old. She earned her Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from Rice University while studying with esteemed mezzo-soprano, Susanne Mentzer, and pursued her Master of Music Degree at the Bard College-Conservatory of Music where she coached with soprano Dawn Upshaw.
Upon relocating to San Francisco in 2014, Sara performed in Les Troyens and Die Meistersinger with the San Francisco Opera Chorus (2015 Season). Other recent performances include the role of Norina in Donizetti's Don Pasquale with the Mendocino Music Festival, an appearance in the inaugural season of Bard Music West, and a solo concert with pianist Allegra Chapman at Live Mission Blue. Past music festivals include Music Academy of the West, Aspen Music Festival and School, and the Tanglewood Music Festival.
In addition to the aforementioned pursuits, Sara has been a volunteer performer with Bread & Roses Presents since 2003. This local non-profit provides free, accessible music to institutionalized and isolated people in jails, nursing homes, and rehab centers.
